Peace for today

Good morning VCA Family! Exactly one year ago doctors discovered a large tumor in my chest, and the battle was on. Now, we all know how that turned out. Praise Jesus! Fighting fear those first days, I was led to this promise of the Father: For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say:“The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. Hebrews 13:5-6 "God has said, so I may boldly say..." I love it! For me, this truth is much more than a nice lyrical phrase. It resonates deep in my spirit. And as I experience the peace that comes from the power of the promise, I am also confronted with my stewardship of information and the thoughts that directly impact my soul. In this time of unsteadiness, we have an opportunity to demonstrate the reality of God's Kingdom. The peace of Jesus (John. 14:17) is available to us and to others through us. As Kingdom people, let's go ahead and live who we are with peace, hope, joy, and faith. Because of the concerns surrounding Covid-19, we will not gather for services until further notice. This decision was not made lightly, but the board and I feel it is the right thing right now. We are going to make every effort to keep us connected and moving together. And here is one of the ways it will happen: Beginning this Sunday, at 10:00 a.m., we will live-stream our service every week. At the end of this email will be instructions from Darrin West telling you how to connect to the service Sunday morning. We will have worship, prayer, preaching, and communion. If you would, while you are out shopping for toilet paper, pick up some grape juice and crackers to have available for communion. Prepare and have them ready so we can join together at the end of the service. Now, this is something new for us so please be patient as we work each week to make it better. As you will hear from me and different VCA leaders over the next few weeks, this is an excellent opportunity for us to be together in our homes. Have a few folks over, worship together, then have brunch! We want to make sure everyone's needs are being met. In a follow-up email we will get you the names, numbers, and email addresses of our leaders so that you can contact them if you need to. Thanks for you understanding in this challenging time. I'm not much one for going backwards. I believe we have this time to strengthen our relationships, creating a bigger and stronger net that enables us to serve more people when the harvest begins. We want the Lord to know He can trust us with more. Please help make sure everyone gets this message. Jen and I love you and are so blessed by you! PR From Darrin West: The following link will take you to our new YouTube channel. There you will find archived videos, and our live stream when it occurs Sunday morning. You can watch this on your computer, smart phone, or tablet. If your phone asks to install the YouTube app, that is safe. We have enabled commenting, so if you have questions, or if you have technical questions, we will try to monitor that chat and respond during the service. If you lose the link, you will be able to search for Valley Christian Assembly in YouTube. There are other churches with the same name, so scroll down and look for our logo. I've added Fall City to the name so it should be easy to see. Once you get onto the page for our channel, you will see a "subscribe" button. You can click that, and it will make it easier to find our channel in the future. And you can also bookmark the link in your browser.

Good Thursday afternoon friends! C.S. Lewis wrote this: "What you see and what you hear depends a great deal on where you are standing. It also depends on what sort of person you are." Now if you are
